AL FAYOUM

Fayoum oasis is Egypt’s largest oasis. It has its own artesian wells, allowing water to reach the surface from underground reservoirs.
Fayoum is a wonderful area of Egypt with a rich and interesting history. It is an area where Egyptians often vacation and which is constantly growing more popular among Europeans. This 692 sq. mile depression was a lush paradise during prehistoric times. Its water level was eighty-five meters higher than today.

LAKE QAROUN

Lake qaroun is the largest lake in the entire country, 45 meters below sea level. It is gradually into aresort, both with beaches, beach resorts and now also holiday houses. There are 88 species nest around the lake, including flamingoes. Including also eel, mullet, sole and shrimp.

WADY EL RAYYAN

 Wady el rayyan has two fairly large lakes connected by a little river and Egypt’s only water falls.yellow, creamy sand dunes creep in on the new lake, the water has a sweet blue color and the bird life is richer than most other places around Egypt.

EIN EL SEYLIEN

Ein el seylien Is one of the major springs in the area. The water is sweet and contains traces of titanium wich are said to prevent teriosclerosis.there are some vendors, restaurants and other amenities in the area,wich is located in a lush valley.

THE WATER WHEEL

Fayoum has a great number of water wheels. Allowing the stream of the river to have water lifted up to a level where it could be transported into the fields for irrigation.

QASR QARUN

Qasr qarun is a temple dedicated to the fayoumi god sobek, built during Ptolemaic times. Its interior distinguished by a maze rooms, and stair cases, all ending on the roof. of the city dionysias,little of interest remains. the foundations and some times even walls of many houses peek through the sand, but no systematic excavations have been conducted here and you get no feeling of how the ancient city must have looked like.

HAWARA'S PYRAMID OF AMENEMHET

The hawara pyramid complex was a great attraction in roman times, but not because of the pyramid. Rather it was the fabled labyrinth, which we hear great stories about with ancient writers Herodotus claimed that it consisted of 3000 chambers.

PYRAMID OF SESOSTRIS

The architect of sesostris 2's pyramid.anupy introduced a new technique of building a pyramid. There was a mound here initially, upon which the structure was laid limostone pillars were dug into the stone, and then covered by mudbrick.this core structure was then covered by finally cut limostone.today this limostone gasing is gone and left is the mudbrick.anupy knew that time was every pyramid's biggest enemy. in order to protect the pyramid from Nile floodings,he had created a sponge trench, failed with sand and rolled flints.

 

SIWA OASIS
Siwa, the most inaccessible of all Egypt's oasis until very recently, is also one of the most fascinating, laying some 60 feed below sea level... On the edge of the Great Sand Sea, its rich history includes a visit from Alexander the Great to consult the Oracle of Amun in 331 BC.

GABAL EL MAWTA(MOUNTAIN OF THE DEAD)

Known by this name because it is here in this conical moun5tain a little over a kilometer to the north of shali along the main road a number of tombs are situated.

HALL OF CROWING ALEXANDER THE GREAT

The dead mountain in aldakrour area,wich has some ancient mummeries and tombs from the roman age, having a group of coins and old jewelry. And also khamisa area including a group of tombs dating back to the Greek age.

AMON TEMPLE

It was dedicated to the worship of god amon,it still retains its engravings and painting which represents the kings offering sacrifices to the gods.

AMON PROPHECY TEMPLE (ORACLE)

It another temple of amun built in the reign of the 26th dynasty (331 BC) when laexander visit Egypt, he visited the temple and received the prophecy from god amun.

OLD SHALI

Shali the fortification of shali is located in the center of modern siwa oasis the area dates from 13th century their construction of salt, mud, rock and plaster.

 

BAHARIYA OASIS
Bahariya Oasis is surrounded by black hills made up of ferruginous quartzite and dolorite. Most of the villages and cultivated land can be viewed from the top of the 50-meter-high Jebel al-Mi'ysrah, together with the massive dunes which threaten to engulf some of the older settlements.

BAWITI

Is the largest village in the oasis;  antural spring hewn from the rock in roman times which gushes water at 30C the neighbouring village of la-qast was built on the remains of a 26th dynasty.

BASILICA CHURCH

Near the fortress, found the remain of a Coptic church built in a classical basilica style. Built of mudbrick,with whitewashed walls covered in a sort of solidifying mud and straw.it has two level connected by staircases  and probably built at the end of 5th century AD.

BLACK AND CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN

Topped by a fort built by a British captain world war I the crystal mountain,a large rock formation beside the road between bahariya oasis and farafra oasis made from quartz.

ROMAN FORTRESS

Are the most prominent ruins at ain elriss.two of its ancient walls still rise above a sandy hill that overlooks the modern village, mostly built of mud brick and apparently served as a large garrison.

 

SAFARI TRAVELS

Enjoy a trip by camels’ o recreational vehicles through the hills and valleys of the oasis palm tree, olives orchards and apricot groves create a natural panorama that blends sandy hills with lush vegetation.

 

FARAFRA OASIS
Known as Ta-iht or the Land of the Cow in pharaonic times, Farafra is a single village. The most isolated of the New Valley Oases it is renowned for its strong traditions and piety.

QASR AL FARAFRA

The only real village in the farafra oasis, qasr al farafra is a quite and relaxing place,which represents most of what it has to offer tourists.

WHITE DESERT

A trip to the white desert is something that no visitor to the new valley should miss. Bahariya and farafra are separated by huge golden sand dunes which make a stunning photograph during the journey.

BADER MUSEUM

Bader a combination houses, museum and studio exhibiting his painting and ceramics are situated in a garden full of sculptures made from objects found in the surrounding desert.

DAKHLA OASIS
Dakhla sits in a depression surrounded by pink cliffs. There are about 30,000 acres of cultivated land. Most of its 70,000 or so residents are farmers who constantly fight the battle of the dunes that threaten their fields and orchards. Is collection of fourteen different settlements, domainated by a wall of rose-colored rock.

MUT CITY

Its name is attributed to mut the consort of god amun.it is dates back to pharaonic period, from 22nd dynasty BC.

AL QASR ISLAMIC VILLAGE

Located about 35 km north dakhla.it is one of the Islamic landmakers in the new valley.as its building reflect Islamic architectural style.

 

KHARGA OASIS
Kharga Oasis is the biggest New Valley oasis and its modern city houses 60,000 people, including 1,000 Nubians who moved here after the creation of Lake Nasser.

HIBIS TEMPLE

This temple, named after the town once existed here, is unique for Egypt in one respect. It is by far the largest and finest of temples from Egypt’s 200 years under Persian rulers. Dedicated to amun and was built by order from king darius1 6th century BDE.

BAGAWAT CEMETERIES

 

The necropolis of bagawat is a reminder of one of the most central battles of early Christianity.the largest necropolis of bagawat is the result of hi and his supporters’exile.the tombes here are believed to indicate that worship of the dead was continued in a Christian style.

 

EL DIER

 

Was the fortress that protected the shortest caravan route between kharga and the Nile. It stands on the eastern extreme of the kharga oasis. At the foot of umm el-ghanaya mountain. It is made up of a fortress with 12 rounded towers, connected by gallery. only some of the rooms have survived, and are clearly marked by the long career of the fortress also, including decorations of early 20th century airplanes.
